Backstory: It really grinds my gears when I throw away food. Normally I'm tired of the food and put off eating it before it goes bad.
The Idea: Enter in the food you've thrown out recently and the app would offer alternatives to help entice you to eat it.
Deep Dive: You can introduce recipes based off existing items you have. For example, if you threw out broccoli, the app could recommend you buy cauliflower and make a roasted cauliflower dish.
Validation: There are tons of millions of food thrown out every year. There are already apps like https://www.supercook.com/ on the market that have proven the need to curate recipes based on the foods you like. Side note... I worked on the redesign of supercook 3 years ago, awesome site run by a great founder :)
Monetization: You can sell highly targeted ads. The instant delivery/ship of food is becoming more popular and those companies would pay top dollar to compete and win on a new platform.
