Backstory: I've been looking into starting an ecommerce business and some supply companies only ship minimums in a single pallet. The fees for them to drop it off at a residential location is $100-$200.
The Idea: Rent out your existing loading dock to startups and small companies.
Deep Dive: You would build a platform where someone can advertise the use of their loading dock and maybe even some sqft space. Those with extra space and a dock can make some extra money during downtime and help out a new local business. Those starting their business can save money and headache from storing pallets at their residence.
Validation: I'm running through this right now with a friend that has a large warehouse. Winters are his slow months and he randomly suggested he should rent out some space during that time.
Monetization: You would take a fee for every transaction through the site.
