Backstory: Local news (Baltimore, MD) has been boring and sad due to an increase in crime. This got me thinking about hyper-focused local news.

The Idea: A crowdsourced local news source.

Deep Dive: You would build a platform for anyone to signup and submit local news. You would vet the articles and post those that are legitimate and of high quality. You would incentivize users to post news articles by giving them a revenue share of ads run on the platform.

Users would be able to search news stories based on geographical location of the submitter.

Validation: I would watch a local news alternative. You would start in a single city and build up an audience in one specific location.

Monetization: You would get revenue from ads and setup a revenue share with publishers.
