Backstory: I was never a cat person growing up but a girlfriend once had two cats and I was instantly obsessed with them when we moved in together. Now I have one cat, George, who is my little best friend. The other day I was in a local coffee shop and saw a cat adoption flyer and got to thinking... they should combine these two ideas.
The Idea: A cat cafe where the cats are all up for adoption.
Deep Dive: You could either partner with a coffee shop or start your own. You would also partner with a local animal shelter to foster a group of cats in the coffee shop and have all of them available for adoption.
Validation: I've seen a few of these pop up in more hipster-ish neighborhoods. You would have to find a spot where there isn't one nearby and has the population to support a cafe.
Monetization: Having the cats as an added "bonus," you could maybe charge for entrance/wifi use if someone doesn't want to buy anything. Additionally you would make revenue from the coffee shop.
